
Nyaberi elected Kenya Volleyball Federation President

Nyaberi beat Musila in what was a hotly contested race and he will serve for a team of four years.
Charles Nyaberi has been elected as the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) president in polls held at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Nyaberi, who in April was named acting president following the demise of Waithaka Kioni floored his closest and only challenger David Masila to bag the seat. Nyaberi got 117 votes while Masila managed 103.
Before being named interim president this year, Nyaberi served as KVF Vice President, a position he was elected into in 2018. Kilundo on the other hand served as second vice president since 2018 when he got elected into office.
Malkia Strikers assistant coach Paul Bitok has been elected the deputy president and he takes over Nyaberi’s position. Bitok managed to get 193 votes against Edward Kisaka’s paltry 23. Outgoing treasurer Kenneth Tonui has been elected vice president. He managed 109 votes against John Gitari’s 90. He succeeds Masila.
Lilian Mududa Waweru has retained her position as the vice president (gender). Waweru beat hear only challenger Hellen Gichuru by a paltry four votes. She managed 105 votes against Gichuru’s 101.
Bernard Busumba will serve as the new treasurer. Busumba takes over from Tonui who went for the vice president’s position. He beat two other candidates; Joseph Kosgei and Daniel Maluki to the seat. Busumba managed 100 votes while Kosgeri, who came in second got 80. Maluki finished a distant third with 33 votes.
For the position of deputy treasurer, Moses Mbuthia got a resounding victory to retain his seat. He floored Esther Mutemi. Mbuthia got 147 votes against Mutemi’s 70.
